Biblical Leadership
"Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; nor as being lords over those entrusted to you, but being examples to the flock" 1 Peter 5:2-3
For any organization to be successful, generally there needs to be good leadership. While the universal church has Jesus as it's head and it will never fail, God has given each local congregation to have men who meet certain qualifications, with the responsibility to feed, protect, and guide the people in doing the work of the Lord.
As happened many times in the history of Israel when they had poor and even wicked leaders, the people likewise fell away from doing what's right. But when God's people have leaders who are busy doing what God has given them to do, the people are likewise effective in carrying out God's will.
